More on animal self-awareness

Adding to last week’s interesting findings, a story in today’s Washington Post reveals that elephants can use mirrors to see otherwise hidden parts of themselves. The article quotes Diana Reiss of the Wildlife Conservation Society in New York, who led the study being reported: “It really is a clue about the evolution of intelligence.”
