Festival of Medical History & the Arts: Oct 5

This Saturday, the New York Academy of Medicine (NYAM) is holding a number of free public lectures from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. as part of the Festival of Medical History & Arts. According to their website, the festival “celebrates artists, scholars, writers and thinkers working at the intersections of history, medicine, art, and the humanities.” Included in the celebration are a few brain-focused events, most notably a “Cosmic/Neuronal Slapdown” with neuroscientist Carl Schoonover and filmmaker Michael Benson, and a talk with neurologist and author Oliver Sacks, M.D.

For the complete schedule, visit the NYAM website.
