Want to learn more about the brain? You’re in luck! Brain Awareness Week is next week (March 13-19) and BraiNY has a jam-packed calendar of events for New Yorkers to celebrate in style!
Events will be taking place around the city that are perfect for any age group. Kids can enjoy Family Game Night at the American Museum of Natural History, touch a real brain aboard the BioBus, or explore 30 interactive booths at the Mount Sinai Brain Fair! Adults can grab a drink while doing brain trivia at Nerd Nite or attending Taste of Science: The Brain, which brings experts out of their labs and into the bar for informal presentations.
No matter what type of event you’re looking for, BraiNY has it covered. Interested in the aging brain? Try “Protect Your Brain, Prevent Dementia” at Hunter College or the Successful Aging & Your Brain panel discussion at New York University, produced in partnership with the Dana Alliance. Looking for a live show? Check out Off the Top, a comedy show that explores the brain through rap and improvisation; or Story Collider, where accomplished scientists share personal stories involving the brain. Love exercise? There will be two chances to attend NeuroYoga, which includes a yoga class to get your body working and a discussion about the brain to exercise your mind. For more information and a full list of events, visit the BraiNY website.
Don’t live in New York but want to join in on the fun? Check out the Dana Foundation Brain Awareness Week calendar to find an event near you!
