Dana Foundation Launches Neuroscience Outreach Video Series

To support and encourage people interested in building an organization or communicating brain science through events, teaching, or writing, the Dana Foundation today launches the first of five “Community Neuroscience” videos. The videos, between 5 and 12 minutes in length, will air weekly on the Dana Foundation YouTube channel starting January 16, leading up to Brain Awareness Week (March 11-17), an annual global event that promotes the promise and benefits of brain research.

Getting Ready for Brain Awareness Week 2019!

Brain Awareness Week (March 11-17) is only a few months away, so it’s time for our partners to start planning in earnest for their 2019 activities! Partners can take advantage of the many Dana Foundation resources available to support their outreach efforts on the campaign website.

What is Brain Awareness Week, you might ask? It’s the global campaign to increase public awareness about the progress and benefits of brain research. Around the world, our partners organize fun and fascinating events and initiatives, uniting their efforts every March in a celebration of the brain. Brain Awareness Week 2019 is Coming

Brain Awareness Week (BAW) 2019 (March 11-17) is only three months away, so it’s time to start planning your BAW activities and taking advantage of the resources we offer on the BAW website! Every March, BAW, the global campaign to increase public awareness of the progress and benefits of brain research, unites the efforts of partner organizations worldwide in a week-long celebration of the brain.

During BAW, partners organize fun and fascinating activities in their communities to educate and excite people of all ages about the brain and the promise of brain research. From brain fairs to symposiums to classroom visits and film screenings, the variety of events is almost endless.

#BrainWeek 2019 Sticker Design Contest Winners

We are pleased to announce the winners of our second annual Sticker Design Contest for Brain Awareness Week! The designs we received this year demonstrated creative talent and enthusiasm for the brain from people around the world. Out of five finalists, the first-, second-, and third-place winners have been chosen by the public through an online survey.

First place winner Leonor Castro Caldas Braga

Leonor Castro Caldas Braga from Lisbon, Portugal, created the first-place design, which will be printed on thousands of stickers to be distributed for Brain Awareness Week, March 11-17, 2019. Braga is a 15-year-old student, whose mother, Margarida Castro Caldas Braga, has been a Brain Awareness Week partner at the Universidade NOVA de Lisboa for several years, and received the e-mail announcing the contest. There are only two days left to vote for your favorite Brain Awareness Week 2019 sticker design! The winner will be featured on the 2019 Brain Awareness Week sticker used by partners across the US.

We have narrowed the choices to five wonderful designs and now it’s up to you! Cast your vote now through November 16.
